Privacy policy
Last updated 19 October 2026
In short: Podsy collects nothing about you. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. What you listen to stays on your devices and in your own iCloud.
What Podsy stores, and where
Your shows, the people you follow, your categories, what you've played and where you stopped are stored on your device. If you're signed in to iCloud, Podsy keeps them in sync between your devices through your own private iCloud database. Apple runs that database for you; the developer of Podsy can't see it.
Downloaded episodes, cached artwork and episode lists stay on the device they were downloaded to.
Who Podsy talks to
To work, Podsy connects to these services. Each of them sees what any web request shows, such as your IP address, and the app name "Podsy":
- Podcast hosts: to fetch the shows you follow, their episodes, artwork and audio.
- Apple Podcasts search (iTunes Search API) and Podcast Index: when you search for shows, and when Podsy looks for episodes with the people you follow. They receive what you search for and those names.
- NRK: to list the episodes of NRK's podcasts.
- Wikipedia: to find photos of the people you follow. It receives their names.
These services have their own privacy policies. Podsy sends them nothing else about you.
Notifications
Notifications about new episodes are made on your device. Podsy doesn't use a server to send them.
Exports
When you export your shows, the file goes only where you choose to share or save it.
Children
Podsy doesn't collect personal information from anyone, children included.
Changes
